About 6 months ago was searching through sky scanner, as you do, as found these amazingly cheap flights to US with Norwegian from Gatwick, which for me is only 30 minute train away, so much better than going to Heathrow!
Anyway, on to Boston and New York for a week it is!
First of all, my review on the flight, 100% recommended, such good value and the new Dream Lines plane is immaculate! We paid a bit extra to be able to check in a bag, have a hot meal and snack, and chose your seats, so we had a bit more leg room also! But for a total of £450 return such good value!
First stop, BOSTON.

A smaller city than New York (obviously) but SO worth a visit. A mixture of the old and the new, this city has it all and great for a short 2/3 day visit!

We followed The Freedom Trail around the cities sights and discover the history the American Revolution.

I think one of my favourite places in Boston has to be this one... Boston Common, its the mixture of the colours and the tall buildings around it, its a much prettier park than Central Park, and if your a real Robin Williams fan you will know one of the best scenes in the Movie "Good Will Hunting" was filmed here!

It was my second time here in Boston, I'd forgotten how lovely it was and is!

And on to Newbury Street, one of Boston's best shopping areas!

It was such a lovely day we walked up to Fenway Park.

Apparently I was ready to go back to school!

Ahh but no, I had read about this bar, with the best view on to the grounds and selling pretty good beer too!

We decided to enquire about the price of the tickets and were going to be coming back that night to see The Boston Red Sox vs Oakland's athletics.
First though, on to find Bodega! This hidden sneaker shop is tucked behind a vending machine in what appears to be a fully functioning grocery store!

No hints from the front!

One of our favourite finds in our US trip was The Barking Crab! Great vibe, atmosphe, views, and the food...

Crab slidders and tuna steak burguers!

Spectacular crabbiness!!

Where to stay??
Found it quite hard to choose, but I'm also quite good at spending hours browsing looking for places. The Boxer, Boutique Hotel Boston, located close to the TD Gardens, it's a short walk to Quincy market. The States are not very fond of including breakfast in the deal but this Hotel did! and it was very good selection actually, great helpful staff and nice spacious room, great hotel actually!!

And to finish the day, back to the Baseball!!! Actually a great experience we had great fun!!!

Looks like you had a wonderful time! I loved Boston, but it was Christmas time and snowing when we were there but I can see Boston Common looks delightful in the Spring/Summer sun. Can't wait for your NYC adventures!
ReplyDeleteBoston common literally my favourite park now!!! haha, hope to see you soon you hampshire babe!! xx
